Terms of Service for 31 Halloween Flicks

Last updated: October 15, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and 31 Halloween Flicks (“the app,” “we,” “us”) for the 31 Halloween Flicks mobile app and the website at 31halloweenflicks.com. By using the app or the website, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the app or the website.

The short version

  • The app is free. There are no ads and no in-app purchases.
  • You can use it without an account. A guest lineup stays on your device.
  • An account lets you sync your October lineup, save star ratings, and use profiles, follows, and reports.
  • You choose a username and who can see your activity. The app calls a follow Stalking. It does not share your location or contact information.
  • Movie titles, posters, ratings, and streaming availability come from other companies. They can be incomplete or wrong, and we do not sell or rent the movies.
  • The app is not for children under 13, and it describes horror films.
  • You can delete your account from inside the app.

The service

31 Halloween Flicks lets you build a 31-night October movie lineup, search for movies, see where a movie may be streaming or available to rent, mark films watched, rate movies you have watched, earn achievements, and share a picture of your lineup or season recap.

If you create an account, you can also have a profile, follow other people, block someone, and report a profile.

We may add, change, or remove features. We do not promise that every feature will stay available, or that the app or website will be uninterrupted.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app or create an account. The app is not directed to children under 13.

Movie information comes from The Movie Database (TMDB) and may describe horror films with content unsuitable for children. Parents should use device-level parental controls and the age rating on the App Store or Google Play when deciding whether the app is appropriate.

Accounts

Creating an account is optional.

Guest mode. You can browse movies, build a lineup, and mark films watched without registering. In guest mode, your lineup and app preferences stay on that device. We cannot see them. If you later create an account, the app can offer to upload that guest lineup. Deleting the app removes the copy stored on the device.

Creating an account. You can sign up with email and a password, Continue with Google on iOS and Android, or Continue with Apple on iOS when the device supports it. You must give accurate account information and keep your sign-in method secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.

One email, one sign-in method. If an account already exists for an email address, sign in with the method you used when you created it. Continuing with Google or Apple does not merge that sign-in into an existing email-and-password account, or the other way around.

Email accounts. You choose an email address and a password. We send a verification message to that address, and a reset message if you ask for one. We do not send promotional email.

Google and Apple sign-in are also governed by those companies. Signing in with them does not give us your Google or Apple password.

Usernames

An account needs a username. It is a public handle of 3 to 20 characters, using letters, numbers, and underscores. It has to be unique. We reject usernames that are reserved, that impersonate someone, or that contain terms we do not allow.

Email sign-up asks you to choose a username before the account is created. After you continue with Google or Apple for the first time, the app asks you to choose one before you finish setup. Your Google or Apple name is not used as that username.

The first username change is available immediately. After that, you can change it once every 7 days. After a change, the previous username stays reserved for 30 days so another account cannot claim it immediately. We may rename or remove a username that breaks these terms, including one that impersonates another person or 31 Halloween Flicks.

Your lineup

A lineup is your list of movies for an October, with a slot for each night. You choose the movies. Marking a movie watched is your record of what you watched in the app. It is not a purchase, a rental, or proof that you watched a film somewhere else.

When you are signed in, you can also save an optional rating on a movie in your lineup, from half a star to 5 stars. We store and sync your lineup, watched marks, ratings, stats, and achievement progress so you can restore them on another device. If two devices change the same lineup, the newer saved version is the one we keep. Signing out removes ratings from that device until you sign back in. Guest mode does not save ratings to an account.

A guest lineup is not synced until you create an account and the app uploads it.

Profiles, follows, blocks, and reports

These features require an account. There is no chat, no comments, and no direct messages.

The app calls following another person Stalking, and a follower a Stalker. That is a follow inside the app. A follow is one-way and does not need approval. It does not share your location, phone number, email address, or contacts.

A new account follows the official 31HalloweenFlicks profile. You can unfollow it, or anyone else, at any time. That official profile stays public. Other people can see the movies on it. They do not see its watched marks or star ratings.

Your profile can show your username, when you joined, your follower and following counts, and — depending on the setting below — your lineup, watched progress, star ratings, stats, and achievements for an October. It does not show your email address.

You choose who can see your activity:

  • Public. Anyone with an account can view your activity. This is the default.
  • Mutual Stalkers. Signed-in people can find your profile, but only someone you follow who also follows you can view your activity.
  • Only Me. Only you can view your activity, and your profile does not appear in search.

You can block another account. A block removes the follows between you and hides that profile from you. Unblocking does not restore those follows. You can report another account for an inappropriate username, impersonation, or another problem, and you can add a short note. A report does not by itself follow, unfollow, or block anyone. We review reports and may warn, restrict, or remove an account. We do not promise to act on every report.

Do not harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone. Do not try to view a lineup that a privacy setting or a block hides from you.

Sharing

You can share a picture of your lineup or season recap through your device’s share sheet. You choose where it goes. We do not receive the picture, and we do not read your photo library.

A shared picture can include movie titles and poster art supplied by TMDB. Those belong to their owners. Share them as part of your personal lineup, not as your own movie artwork.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law, or encourage anyone else to
  • Use an account that is not yours, or let someone else use your account to hide who they are
  • Impersonate another person, or suggest that we endorsed you
  • Choose a username, or send a report or support message, that is hateful, sexually exploitative, or abusive
  • Harass or threaten anyone
  • Probe, scrape, or overload the app, the website, or our servers, or try to get around a privacy setting, a block, or our access controls
  • Copy the app, our achievement art, or our branding, or use them to build a competing service
  • Use the app to collect other people’s information

We may remove a username or other material, and we may suspend or delete an account, when we believe these terms were broken. We may do that without notice when we need to protect someone or the service.

Your content

You keep whatever rights you have in the username you choose, the movies you pick, the notes you add to a report, and the messages you send to support.

You give us permission to host, sync, and display that material only as needed to run the app: to save your lineup, to show your profile according to the privacy setting you chose, to review a report, and to answer a support message. That permission ends when the material is deleted, except for copies we need to keep to resolve a safety issue, finish a deletion, or meet a legal duty. A previous username may stay reserved for 30 days after you change it, as described above.

We do not claim ownership of movie titles, posters, or ratings. We do not sell your lineup or your profile.

Movie information and other services

TMDB supplies movie titles, posters, synopses, ratings, trailers, and streaming availability. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Streaming, rental, and purchase options shown in the app are supplied to TMDB by JustWatch. They can be missing, out of date, or wrong for your country. A title in the app is not a promise that you can watch it on a particular service. If you leave the app to watch, rent, or buy a movie, that is between you and that service. We do not take payment for movies, and we do not control those services.

Cinemeta supplies the IMDb rating shown beside a movie’s release year. We are not affiliated with IMDb or Cinemeta. A rating can be missing or out of date.

The Apple App Store and Google Play distribute the app under their own terms. Those terms apply to the copy you download. We do not control their stores.

Our intellectual property

The app, the website, the 31 Halloween Flicks name, the popcorn-bucket jack-o’-lantern, achievement artwork, and the text and design we created belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you ownership of any of that. You may use the app for your personal October lineup.

Ending your account or the service

You can delete your account in profile settings. Confirming it permanently removes your account, your username, your Google or Apple sign-in link for this app, your lineups and ratings, your follows, your blocks, and reports tied to that account. This is immediate and cannot be undone. It does not delete your Google account or your Apple ID, and it does not uninstall the app. A guest lineup stored only on your device remains until you delete the app or its data.

You can also email us to ask for deletion. That request is described on the Delete Account page.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering the app or a feature. If we discontinue the service, we will say so on the website or in the app when we reasonably can.

Disclaimers

The app and website are provided as-is and as available. We do not warrant that movie data, ratings, or streaming availability are accurate, that sync will never lose an edit, or that the app will be error-free.

Achievements, stats, and the October challenge are for fun. They are not a contest, and they do not come with a prize.

Horror movies can be disturbing. You choose what to watch.

Limitation of liability

The app is free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost lineups, wrong or missing movie or streaming information, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including problems caused by a streaming service, an app store, or a movie-data provider.

Some places do not allow certain limitations. In those places, these limits apply only as far as the law allows. These terms do not take away consumer rights that cannot be waived, and they do not limit liability that the law says cannot be limited.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the “Last updated” date above. If you keep using the app or the website after that date, you agree to the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete your account if you have one.

Material changes will be announced in the app when we reasonably can. Because these terms are hosted online rather than built into the app, the version on this page is always the current one.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles. It is part of these terms. If the two conflict about how we handle personal information, the Privacy Policy controls.
